making noise 'noisier'... adding range and change?
Hi, i'm running some sampled audio through a sample and hold and a quantizer as part of a project...i would really like to generate some melodic ideas from this particular audio 'noise' source but it isn't that variable and things are sounding a bit static. I'm wondering if there is any way to put s...

making things ring... Rings??
A lot of ambient modular music i like seems to have people using a module called rings from mutable intstruments. I'm still trying out lots of different voices in VM, but I wondered if there was a clear pathway toward that kind of sound in voltage modular.. i don't know really how to describe it, re...

Re: how cpu heavy is VM?
Thank you! ( i will test with the hyperthreading, sorry i thought that screenshot was from your apple system, didn't realize you could access those settings right in vm ) I'm running the core demo and having so much fun, without hitting CPU ceilings just yet. I'm using field recordings through the s...

Re: how cpu heavy is VM?
Thank you for the detailed reply! That's helpful and it was interesting to see your patch... I didn't realize I could demo, that might be the best way to see what's achievable. I'm still hopeful I can do something but i think i'm a bit under-gunned. I'm a bit reluctant to get into the bios and mess ...

how cpu heavy is VM?
I suppose the answer is that it depends on what you build? But I'd sure love some advice before I buy. I'm just about to pull the trigger on buying the core, but I'm wondering if I'll actually be able to make use of it? Are simpler generative patches out of reach? The sampler? Or something like the ...

Re: the next Big steps...
that was a ridiculous question.. it came from exuberance... i found the sampler 1 which is in core, and the sampler 2 which looks more fun.. i think one of those will be important for me.. anyway, i'll figure it out, going to settle in and enjoy the process, it's not happening overnight ..

the next Big steps...
Hi everyone. I'm right at the start of the learning curve. I think I know where I want to go but I'd like to get there efficiently and stay on track. I just got the low commitment Nucleus starter pack. I'm wondering if the Core or Ignite packs are the way to go or if I could be more selective and fo...
