CV Stepper is switching all the CV knobs to the same note. I haven't found a pattern to it yet. It does it when I close and open VM but seems to do it at other times as well. I did just upgrade to the latest version of VM (2.9.2).
Thanks.

CV Stepper changing all notes...
Re: CV Stepper changing all notes...
Thanks for reporting this. I'll have look at it.
It would be helpful, when you'd watch and note the conditions when it happens again and let me know.

Thanks for looking into it.
It definitely happens when I close VM and open it up again. I'll let you knew if I find any other clues.

Re: CV Stepper changing all notes...
Hello d.
thanks for your message. It seems to match my supposition.
CV Stepper software does not set cv knobs to same values. All knobs are only set once, when module is loaded into VM rack at the very first time. After that moment all module controls get restored to their previous positions at each preset reload.
A change of cv knob values can only appear, when
- cv polarity was changed,
- cv knob range was changed.
This can happen, when former knob values would be out of new knob range.
I never install a software just when a new release is offered. So I tested CV Stepper with VM 2.7.0 and could not see any issues. There might be a problem with last VM update.

Re: CV Stepper changing all notes...
It works fine in 2.7. I just double checked. This appears to be a problem with 2.9.2.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: CV Stepper changing all notes...
I updated to VM 2.9.2 and have the P. Moon's CV Stepper Module. I'd be happy to see if I get the same issue. Unfortunately, "switching all the CV knobs to the same note" is ambiguous. I took a guess and didn't come up with a condition where all CV knobs suddenly switched to the same setting. Again, I'd be happy to try it on my PC if you can provide a patch and a brief list of steps to reproduce the the bug.
Not saying it doesn't happen, just trying to help pinpoint when it does and doesn't happen.

Re: CV Stepper changing all notes...
This is easy to reproduce. Create a basic patch using CV Stepper. Adjust the CV knobs. Close VM. Open VM and now the knobs have all shifted to the same value. See attachments. CVStepper1 is the initial patch. CVStepper2 is the patch after closing and re-opening VM.
This started happening after upgrading to 2.9.2. Nothing else has changed. Same computer. Same OS - Windows 11.
Thanks.

Re: CV Stepper changing all notes...
Do all the knobs change to the same value every time? If so, what is that value? In the two pics you posted, it looks almost as though they all assumed the value of channel 4, but it's hard to be sure from a pic. Or, on the other hand, do they all change to some new value, but not the same one on every restart? This might be important information for Roland to have in debugging the problem.

Reid, you hit it! I just wanna ask these questions.
@dayvyg
When after VM restart all cv knobs are set to same value:
- Is the value the same each time when it happens?
- If yes, which value is it?
