Hi Cherry Audio,
I'm digging the P-10 emulation. It sounds great!
I have a feeling this subject is going to be a bit contentious, and subject to the interpretation of original design. Anyway, is there a way to get Sustain behavior on the envelopes? Drone is not quite the same - but it could be if it was bound to CC-64, and there was a way to specify that the sustain pedal behavior is 'Momentary' (i.e. not toggled to ON/OFF, as is currently implemented).
I understand that the original design of the Prophets did not have sustain behavior, but modern Prophets do (because of the usability improvement, they have a 'Release/HOLD' control). Regardless of the philosophy, I would like the option to make the playing behavior similar to my other VSTs (including almost all other Cherry Audio VSTs) that HOLD envelope-sustain when CC-64 is depressed - especially when I am configuring multiple VSTs to be played from the same controller (during live performance). I don't mind having to take the extra step to bind the CC-64 to drone, and set the control to momentary to make that happen (even though the usability would be better for me if this were the default).
Thanks, Regards,
Kevin L
Sustain / Hold
Re: Sustain / Hold
I too would like my sustain pedal to work as 'normal'. Feels weird that holding down the sustain pedal right now doesn't sustain the pads.

Re: Sustain / Hold
Fully appreciate honoring the original characteristics of the Prophets but would like to see some ideas please on working in the sustain pedal for directly affecting sustain on pads, etc. without twisting a knob. Love your products!

Re: Sustain / Hold
Hi friends,
This morning, we put our heads this morning and realized that we could make the sustain pedal have infinite sustain when the RELEASE button is turned ON. When RELEASE is OFF, the sustain pedal turns on the release stage just as it does in the original hardware. But when RELEASE is ON, which is the default state, the sustain pedal now acts as a hold (instead of doing nothing).
This gives everyone the best of both worlds -- authenticity to the original hardware, as well as the Hold feature that people expect from modern synthesizers.
This new feature is found in Build 73, released this morning.
