Tried to add Hi - Hats & other percussion to this but couldn't quite sync stuff up to the main 'melody'.

Because of the randomness of the S & H I guess?

Try driving the S&H and the percussion with an "external" source, like an LFO or Andrew M's Clock Generator:

Hi Terry - Thank you so much for that.

I added the modules, as you suggested, & it is a lot better - but the melody still wanders off slightly ahead of the percussion.

But it quickly catches up & is more in than out of sync!
