Some more fiddling with the 8 step sequencer as a master for other sequencers and the 8 - 1 step switch yielded these results. Only this set up uses a noise gate as a sequence switcher. I've linked two and four sequencers for these two patches, for 16 and 32 notes, respectively (the second it the better, I think)
