Omri Cohen's excellent YouTube videos and resources, as well as the seminal "Patch and Tweak" book both advocate and implement patch-cable colour-schemes that serve to make understanding patches easier and make complex patches easier to manage and 'debug'.
Red: Audio
Yellow: CV
Blue: Modulation
Green: Clocks, Trigs & Gates
VM2 allows you to select the cable colours, but it's a slightly tedious implementation. VCV allows multiple clicking of patch points to select from 1 of 4 colours. Would it be feasible to either provide a set of (5) colours as a "theme" (or allow users to define their own themes) and for these to be selectable in the same way as VCV - multiple clicks to cycle thru.
VCVs implementation could be improved upon by defaulting cable colours to the primary function of the patch point.
It's a simple thing - but makes it so much easier to understand your own and others' patches.
Thank you.

Let that be a personal user choice. I certainly do not want such a thing. Each to his own.

@andro - pretty sure I wasn't proposing anything mandatory.

Cable colour depending on kind of use is a really good idea for a better overview.

This was a discussion awhile back and the threads are in the forum. Indeed, having a consistent coloring scheme would be great when releasing presets.

This one linked below was my proposal (which is pretty much what VCV does) but it didn't get a lot of attention
I truly hoped it would have been included in Voltage2, but it wasn't the case.

Color coding cables is extremely important to me and the way it's currently set up in Voltage Modular makes it quite confusing with infinite shades of blue and purple and brown
I use an "RGBY" color rotation similarly to the Learning Modular way, which makes patches much easier to "read"
It's the only thing I'm truly missing from Voltage (and really easy to implement), otherwise it's pretty great modular softsynth to use.
