CC control of buttons e.g. chorus on/off

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or this is a bug. I have mapped the chorus on/off button to a button on my controller. It always takes two button clicks to turn the effect on or off. This isn't a big deal but it's annoying that the button is often lit on the controller when the effect is actually off. This seems to happen to all the buttons on the DCO106. Interestingly, the same issue doesn't affect the switches such as the envelope gate mode and the VCF envelope invert. They work as expected with a single button push. I have checked the midi monitor in Cubase and the first button push always sends a value of zero and the second a value of 127. This should work shouldn't it?
