VM vst2 and 3 invisibled in Ableton Live 10.1.41

any ideas? rescanned, absolutely nothing, audio unit is showing, all my other DAWS, Cubase and Reason see the VST's fine...sigh

my experience is in windows, but the "rescan" button in Ableton doesn't reliably work. . . I've had to turn off scanning folders for plugins, then turn it back on again.

thanks yep, same on the Mac, rescan does not work, you've got to start from scratch, turn off the plugin locations and back on for a full scan from the ground up!
