I was able to fix it.
So I downloaded a new certificate and added it to my keychain and the activation worked like a charm. (Fantastic plugin, btw, I had a lot of fun playing with it the first time.)
I fixed it by following the instructions under the Client instructions under macOs, iOS etc in this article:

This temporary fix by Greg worked for exactly 10 minutes. STILL NONE OF MY PAID CHERRY AUDIO PLUGINS WORK!!!

After dealing with this for the past 5 days. I think i found a solution for Cherry Audio products.

Hi,
The workaround for people with old Mac operating systems definitely fixed that certificate problem for you, (it was causing a “no internet” error). Now you’re having different issues, which we can continue to troubleshoot.

Oh, and the certificate issue has now been corrected on the server end, so people with old Mac operating systems shouldn't need the workaround anyway.
