Re: New Instrument Suggestions List
If possible then Cherry Audion probably ought to make a soft-synth unit that could switch between being an Ems vocoder 2000 and an Ems vocoder 3000 in functionality.. Because it appears as if the Ems vocoder 3000 is even more expensive and rare than the Ems vocoder 2000 , if you can find one these days that is ! And being able to emulate both units would probably increase the market interest considerably !
If anyone is interested in the Ems vocoder 2000 internals then I found this one (service manual) :
http://www.synfo.nl/servicemanuals/EMS/ ... MANUAL.pdf
And there is a lot more scrolling down this page ! : http://www.synfo.nl/

Don't bother me !

Re: New Instrument Suggestions List
I'm still waiting for someone to create a really authentic-sounding Korg Micro-Preset M500. This is the very limited 1970s monosynth as used by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark on their early albums, not the world-dominating microKorg synth/vocoder released in 2002.
I've managed to get quite close within Voltage Modular, but getting that final 5% of the sound continues to elude me. There's a 'boinginess' about the specific configurations of the Korg 35 (Sallen-Key-ish) Filter which is just lovely. I haven't found any sonic equivalents in the VM store.
I keep pestering Bjorn at Full Bucket Music, as he has a great ear for the 1970s Korg sound. No sign of a Micro-Preset yet, though.

I'm curious why they don't already have a DX styled vst instrument... they did it for in VM: https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/fm-bundle
Re: New Instrument Suggestions List
In my opinion, Dexed is already the last word in DX7 simulations, and it's completely free-of-charge. The UI might not look too stylish, but it's very clear and easy-to-operate. It's far easier to program than any Yamaha hardware, including the DX1.tgrey wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 2:12 pm I'm curious why they don't already have a DX styled vst instrument... they did it for in VM: https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/fm-bundle

Dexed works in VM's plug-in host modules.utdgrant wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 3:33 pmIn my opinion, Dexed is already the last word in DX7 simulations, and it's completely free-of-charge. I know dexed and have used it a good bit, but I didn't realize it was still actively being developed. I thought it had been abandoned years ago leaving newer OS/chipset users out of luck. That's great to see!utdgrant wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 3:33 pmIn my opinion, Dexed is already the last word in DX7 simulations, and it's completely free-of-charge. But I'd still rather see Cherry Audio's take on it. They've done such a great job with every other UI, plus having that galactic reverb and stardust tape delay built in would just be the chef's kiss
