Good evening Colin.

Here is the screen shot of the Fade test with the 'play' button pressed.

And yes, I can confirm that it does indeed sound as if the fades in and out are working - but these
can only be heard to be working if the VCA's gain controls are turned up above zero.

Kind regards again,

Vincent

Thanks Vincent,

That gives me good data to work on as it's narrowed the problem down.

If you look at the bottom CV Watcher trace you can see that it's different on your machine for some reason.

I can now try and figure out why.

Happy to try help in this way Colin.

I'll wait now to hear from you again with any news you might have in solving
the issue - and please feel free if you need me to do any further test for you.

Hi Vincent,

I really do appreciate your help in tracking down this fade bug.

I've had a good look at the code and can't figure out what's going wrong. Obviously it's difficult to trace a problem that doesn't occur on my machine or that of any of my Beta Testers.

To go further I need to run a diagnostic version of Song Part on a machine that exhibits the bug so that I can look inside the module to find more clues.

Would you be kind enough to join my Beta Team so that I can send you stuff without it having to be published and delayed by the approval process?

If so please either PM me your email address or send a quick email to [email protected]. You'll then get an email from Cherry Audio with an accept button in it. You then get a Beta Test folder in your Library that I can put stuff in instantly.

This would be a short term arrangement just to try and squash this one bug, unless of course you fancy being part of the team for a longer period.

Best Regards,
Colin

... and hope you've had chance to read that the 'fade' issue seems to have resolved itself
after Voltage went through its 'updating catalogue' routine upon booting up today.

Hi again Colin.

Yes, I am very happy to report that, after Voltage went through its usual 'updating catalogue'
routine, tutorials 3 and 5 are now working perfectly fine. No issues at all now with the fades in or
out and, having also tested the Fade Test Patch which you asked me to try, that too is showing
the correct traces (as would be expected now that the issue seems to have resolved itself).

Also, just to confirm (for yourself or anyone else reading this thread), Tutorial 5 is working
perfectly fine audio-wise using ASIO4ALL driver and the Midi modules are performing without
any problem on my i7 PC with their nominal latency 128 settings.

Windows Task Manager reports that this patch is running the CPU at no more than 30% on the above settings.

Hope all of the above helps and is helpful to others too.

Kind Regards,
Vincent
