Hoping that the macOS 13.4 update might address whatever Apple had managed to fubar in 13.3 ?

What can I say, I'm a dreamer :D

Context: known issue with Logic, VM and macOS 13.3 with M1/M2 Macs - see pinned post.

No, VM is still not validated in macOS 13.4 .

But why should this be only an issue with macOS. All my other AUs get validated. VCV is running without problem. All other Cherry Audio AUs get validated.
I can run VM in Logic inside of Blue Cat Audio PatchWork without problem.
Would be interesting what is done different in VM.

VM is also not validated in Logic Pro with macOS 13.4.1

hello

I understand VM only works in Rosetta /Logic on 13.4.1 but is it possible to run *only* the audio unit in Rosetta (not logic)?

is that possible? I find conflicting info on that online. If it is possible, how do you do it?

thanks!

How do you want to run only the AU in rosetta?
The VM-AU works okay in Ableton.
When I would want to run VM in Logic-non-rosetta I would use Blue Cat Audio PatchWork.

I found this thread looking for answers on this Voltage Modular issue.

For me, Voltage Modular crashes during validation on macOS 13.4.x in Logic Pro running in Apple Silicon (M1/M2) native mode. It's not just a validation issue per se. You can successfully validate in Rosetta mode, but VM will crash when loading once you switch back to native mode.

This happens when loading Voltage Modular even as VST3 via another plugin wrapper like Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol. I got the same results in Blue Cat Audio PatchWork. May be I'm doing something wrong since it's working for rokkumuc, but I'm not really keen on paying for BC PatchWork even if it did work.

So for now, my workaround is to use the following command line to launch Logic Pro in Rosetta mode when I want to use Voltage Modular in Logic.

arch -x86_64 /Applications/Logic\ Pro\ X.app/Contents/MacOS/Logic\ Pro\ X

This command tells macOS to try to run Intel binary of the Logic, and you'll see "Rosetta" in the Logic splash screen.

I have this set up in Shortcuts favorite so it's just one click from the top menu.
