Voltage Modular in Reason 10 is not recognized
Re: Voltage Modular in Reason 10 is not recognized
I have Reason Lite 11.3.5. CA Instruments show up and can be loaded, but just like your experience, VM isn't even seen. I never use Reason, but thought I'd give it a try.
Re: Voltage Modular in Reason 10 is not recognized
I use Reason 12 and yes, VM only appears as a VST3 plug-in, these days. The same is true for most CA instruments, too; the only ones still listed as VST2 for me currently are Mercury-4 and PS-20.
I believe it might be possible to simply move the VM VST3 DLL from its default location:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins\Voltage Modular
into your normal (VST2) plug-in folder.
Alternatively, add a new folder path on the Preferences -> Folders tab:

Re: Voltage Modular in Reason 10 is not recognized
Hello,
All of our products have VST2 versions available. If you left VST2 (which is just listed as VST) selected as a plug-in format during installation, it should be located wherever you set the path in the installer.
If no path was set the default VST2 path our installer uses will depend on your system. If there is a folder saved in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VST\VSTPluginsPath, we default to the folder defined there.
Otherwise, if %ProgramFiles%\Steinberg\Vstplugins exists, we default to %ProgramFiles%\Steinberg\Vstplugins\Cherry Audio\
If the Steinberg folder doesn't exist, we default to %ProgramFiles%\VST\Cherry Audio\.
So, please check on %ProgramFiles%\Steinberg\Vstplugins\Cherry Audio\ and %ProgramFiles%\VST\Cherry Audio\. Should the files be present there, be sure to add that path in your DAWs plug-in manager.
In case you can't find the VST2 versions in either of the above directories, you can download the installer again and only select VST2 from the available formats to install. Make sure that you set the path to your desired VST2 directory when prompted, or make note of what the installer indicates when asked where to install them.
Hopefully, this information helps.

If I remember correctly VM doesn't work at all in Reason 10. I think you need Reason 12 in order for it to work.NOVADA wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 6:21 pm Hello everyone,

Edit: Actually it was the 11.2 version of Reason that VM first worked in.

This is how I remember it as well, from Reason 11.2 release notes.martb wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 9:56 pmIf I remember correctly VM doesn't work at all in Reason 10. I think you need Reason 12 in order for it to work.NOVADA wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 6:21 pm Hello everyone,

Fixed an issue that made certain VST plugins crash (including SoundToys, Mastering the Mix and Cherry Audio)
To get it to work with Reason 10 run it inside of Kush Elements which is free, also you can run VST3's in Reason 10 that way, also you can get Midi out of VST's and back into Reason 9.5 and above that way it's a good way
Re: Voltage Modular in Reason 10 is not recognized
So far as I can tell VM Reason Lite 11.3.5 doesn't see VM, however it does see Kushview Element. So I copied my els files into Reason Lite's Element folder and tested a session. It seems to work. So I added VM, chose a preset, and that seems to work, too.PoohBear wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 1:18 pm This is how I remember it as well, from Reason 11.2 release notes.

Not sure I will make extensive use of Reason, but I wanted to share that this works.
