The new Voltage Modular DEsigner version 2.9.2 crashes immediately upon loading.

I have reinstalled in twice, and no joy.

Anyone have any experience with this? Any solutions?

I'm not sure as I don't use a Mac, but it might be that you have not yet installed the new version of VM or the JDK.

https://docs.cherryaudio.com/voltage-mo ... er/install

If it's not that then get in touch with CA's support.

I installed jdk-23_macos_x64_bin.dmg, but it didn't change the error.

---- update -----
Did the steps to install jdk 22, exactly what the instructions ask for. Rebooted. Reinstalled Voltage Modular Designers. No better luck, it still crashes.

javac --version
javac 22.0.2

----
I know my system is not tweaked too badly. Voltage Modular Designer 2.7.0 still works.

I thought that VRE22 might stand for Voltage Runtime Environment for Java 22 in the the error message saying /Library/Application Support/Voltage/VRE22/lib/libjli.dylib couldn't be found and that this might be because this and other libraries were part of the Voltage Modular (NOT Voltage Modular Designer) 2.9.2 installation but if you've got both VM 2.9.2 and the latest JDK installed then I'm stumped.

I'm thinking it's a job for support. V2.9.2 was released in June so your problem can't be very common. Maybe remnants of a previous installation of either VMD or the Java stuff?

Have you got Voltage Modular installed and updated and does that run ok?

I suspect that the problem is that the installed version of VM is 2.7.0 rather than VM 2.9.2.

From the link I posted earlier...

NOTE: Voltage Modular and Module Designer use shared components. If you are updating Module Designer from a previous version, you must first install and open the latest version of Voltage Modular, and allow it to completely update its components and modules. Once that is completed, you may then install the updated version of Module Designer. The two applications will always share the same version number.
