Samplitude compatibility?

Post by choochris »

I’m able to use VM as VST IN Reaper, but not in Samplitude Pro X3.

I haven’t found a software compatibility list for VM yet. Anyone have a similar problem?

Thanks,

I have Samplitude Pro X3 Suite (14.4.0.518 (DC2)) installed on Win10. Added VM VST3 to a new project and got sound out of the synth.

Sorry, I’m half asleep and left out the important part!

I can do that too, but I can’t get it to work as an AUX send. That is what works in Reaper but not Samplitude.

I have Samplitude Pro-X 2 and 4 but not 3.
Can you give me steps to try to run VM as an aux send as you are trying to do?

I can load VM on an aux bus and get sound.
Not sure if that is what you are unable to do, let me know.

I have a track with either audio or VSTi and MIDI. I send it (at 0dB) to an AUX bus with VM loaded and populated (I've tried sending from audio and VSTi tracks). Everything works except that no audio is present at the "From Host" jack. The meter doesn't light up either.

For comparison, in Reaper it works as expected, but the "From Host" meter is pegged rather than showing the actual, lower amplitude. The preset is the same in both hosts.

Thanks for looking into it!

I suppose I should mention VM is set up as an effect, not instrument. The patch is simple regenerating pitch shifting:

delay 100% wet -> pitch shift up 100% wet -> attenuator -> output, and also back to the delay input

It bears mentioning that I can't time my delay properly in this setup because there doesn't seem to be delay compensation for the mini-plugin host I'm using for Little Alter Boy. I figure that might be unavoidable. If I buy a VM pitch shifter will that problem go away? (Sorry to pile on!)

Just set up an AUX bus with VM FX VST3 loaded.
Added a clip to a track and set the AUX 1 output to 0db.
Audio In meter in VM looks as expected.
Added PSP nitroPITCH module.
Works OK

I failed to mention that PSP has a delay module with a send/return built-in, PSP DelayEx. Inserting the PSP nitroPitch should create the effect you describe.

Would you be able to send me a project file for Samplitude that I can open so we have the exact same scenario?
