Java SE release

What Java SE release should we be using for MD? Java SE 11? I have been using Java SE 8, as this is referenced in the manual. Then I read somewhere about using 11, but the URL escapes me, and my memory may be incorrect? I am assuming the MB Manual is older and not updated.
